As businesses become more confident about transitioning to use biofuels to replace fossil fuels, we are seeing new entrants into the market and new opportunities unfolding which avoid the need for expensive new equipment to achieve greenhouse gas emission reductions. A good example of this is the announcement by Genesis Energy that they will be trialling drop-in biomass fuel in the Huntly Power Station to replace coal. Changing the fuel at Huntly is likely to be a better economic investment by the electricity sector to ensure dry year electricity supply, rather than building new power stations such as at Lake Onslow...'
