Ernslaw One Ltd
Ernslaw One Limited is a privately owned softwood plantation company, growing and managing over 95,000 hectares of forests. The estate is comprised of mainly Radiata Pine and Douglas Fir softwood species in privately owned forests, Crown Forest Lease and private leases in both the North and South Island.
We are committed to sustainable forestry in NZ and all of Ernslaw One’s forests are managed and certified under the Forest Stewardship Council program for sustainable management. We employ about 80 staff and have a contractor workforce of more than 600 people.
As a family-owned business, there is a strong emphasis on loyalty, long term relationships and a commitment to each other to support, share and keep ourselves and others safe. Our highly experienced team works across the full forestry cycle, from seed to sale growing premium logs for both the domestic and international markets.
Our annual harvest is about 1.4 million m3 and we supply about 40% of our harvest to the domestic market. More recently Ernslaw One has looked towards more efficient utilisation of its forestry by-products and is promoting the benefits of sustainable wood products in the energy industry through its supply contracts with bio-energy customers.
