Renewable energy supply constraints

While no figures have been put against 100% renewable electricity generation in New Zealand, educated guesses are leaning towards astronomical costs or simple unattainability. While increasing renewable electricity generation is vital for New Zealand’s emissions targets, resourceful, smart decisions need to be made.

Azwood Energy questions why Government would incentivise electrifying large proportions of process heat – putting pressure on the national grid – when a renewable, low-emission and local energy supply can be mapped out 30 years in advance.
