Renewables a better policy option than buying credits
Adiran Macey, Victoria University policy expert spoke to the 2016 Wind Energy Association Annual Conference. He said that encouraging more investment in renewables (including wind and bioenergy) to meet climate change targets is a better option for New Zealand than relying on international carbon credits. Macey says that, over a year, 1 MW of installed wind generation capacity could save "in the region of 2,000 tonnes of CO2".
