Web140528: Production and preparation of wood fuel from forest landings
A webinar presented by Rien Visser, Associate Professor and Director of Studies, Forest Engineering - Canterbury University, Christchurch, New Zealand.
This BANZ webinar looked at the effect of storage duration and technique on the moisture content of radiata pine logs being used for making wood fuel. Rien Visser discussed two trials established in the South Island representing favourable and unfavourable storage conditions, namely:
- summer storage in a warm, and dry location, and
- winter storage in a cold and relatively wet location.
