About the webinar
The key role of anaerobic digestion in driving sustainable decarbonisation has been recognised globally. Across Europe, Asia and the Americas, the demand for biogas and biomethane is high with many countries implementing strategic targets for the proportion of biomethane in gas networks. This drives investor confidence.
Alzbeta Bouskova, convenor of the Bioenergy Association’s Gaseous Biofuels Interest Group had recently attended the World Biogas Summit and the World Biogas Association Councillors’ annual meeting (She is a WBA Councillor representing Oceania).
During her visit she focused on areas which are most relevant to New Zealand’s emerging gaseous biofuels market including:
- Market drivers
- Feedstocks
- Plant Operation
- Digestate
- Technology advances
- Biogas upgrading
While the New Zealand gaseous biofuels market is still only emerging we face similar issues which are being addressed in other growing markets. Being able to talk directly with major players in the global market ensures that we can learn from the failures and successes of other country markets.
Attendees of this webinar gained an understanding of:
- The regulatory environment that is assisting the global growth in biogas production
- The drivers for a sustainable development strategy
- Key factors in household food waste collection
- What drives digestate value
- AD facility quality assurance protocol
The Bioenergy Association invited anyone interested in understanding the European gaseous biofuels market to attend this discussion.
